THE SPICE TRAIL RESTAURANT
We are proud to introduce the Spice Trail Restaurant - our favourite dishes from travels all over Asia, with our own unique twist.
Some of the items on our menu may be unfamiliar to you - such as our Japanese Okonomiyaki. It’s like a savoury pancake with seafood, bacon and special sauces - perfect for filling a hungry surfer! Give something new a try and we’re sure you won’t be disappointed.
Most of the spices we use are grown in the garden, and ingredients sourced locally. We import a few of our special items so that we can make the food taste exactly how it should be. We try as best as possible to reduce our impact on the earth by using glass bottles to serve mineral water throughout the property.
We aim to provide you with a fine dining experience, where all the dishes are carefully prepared and made with love. The tastes and array of flavors are unique to the Spice Trail and you won’t experience anything like it in Arugam Bay.
ABOUT THE SPICE TRAIL
We set up in 2013, with a vision to create a place that’s clean, comfortable and with all the amenities of a hotel - but with that personal family feel. After working tirelessly in New York City for 12 years, I chose to move back to Sri Lanka (my home) and create a new lifestyle focused around all the things I love - family, food, surfing and meeting new people.
This dream turned into a reality in 2013 when we opened our first three cabanas - all with a Scandinavian influence in the design. In 2017 we expanded and now are complete with a total of 12 villas, a swimming pool and a cafe at the top of the driveway.
The Bite Bake Bar is run independently, whose home-baked goods have been described as ‘organically sourced morsels of yumminess’ and the ‘best coffee in Arugam Bay”. Open throughout the peak season June-October.
