He breaks down your sessions with proper video analysis, reviewing footage with you afterwards to pinpoint specific fixes rather than general encouragement. It's coaching in the real sense with drills, repetition, measurable progress, for anyone serious about sharpening their surfing beyond just enjoying it. As the season changes and the sand moves with it, the best spots aren't always where they were last week. So, don’t rely on a generic online search to tell you where to go or how to find the safest place to surf through currents, sand movements and reefs with jaws. The Bay’s Best Vibes and Bites the Algorithm Won’t Find

Arugam Bay is not the kind of place that makes you choose between comfort food and culture; you can have both in the same day, or even on the same table. If you’re craving familiar goodness to sink into, grab a pizza from Saman's Surf N Sun next door to us. They do the best pizza and vibe on the strip (book ahead, they sell out), and it’s a must-try for when you’re craving some comfort. For an authentic jungle BBQ, our friends at Luna Surf Tribe are the team behind the legendary spread in the Podi Scene film that gets everyone hungry by the time they’re done watching (watch after 23.07 if you’re just here for the food).

A few doors up, Deep Sea does a vegan menu worth the climb to Bayvista's rooftop. But you don't have to go far to find the heart of it all: our own resident restaurant Little Bang Kitchen (LBK) has teamed up with local musician and surfer Bande for 'Maki & Music with Bande,' every Friday evening. Live music, fresh sushi, and drinks that you might keep ordering on repeat. We also run Happy Hour daily from 6 to 7 PM, just for cocktails at LBK A’bay.

For something that makes you feel good about doing the right thing, look for Rice & Carry's bags, tackling plastic waste and creating jobs for women in the region, while cleaning up the beaches. They’ve been at it for over a decade, and we have serious respect for their exhausting and often thankless work in collecting plastic waste that plagues our beaches. We're also fans of Salty Alchemy (Julia & Loku) and Cruise Culture, who are doing a neat job at capturing the feel of Sri Lanka’s coastline into their own lifestyle aesthetic.
